Our challenge each day...

Our challenge each day is to find something to rejoice about and something good to do - and then to do both. Julie Ackerman Link

Listen to your inner voice...

"Listen to your inner voice and promise that you'll take positive action where you need to. If you've been addicted to a harmful substance, to overeating, or even to being a doormat, listen to the voice within that begs you to be big rather than small, and to take one corrective step." Dr. Wayne Dyer - Quote from Gregg Braden on Facebook.

The first time I became aware of my inner voice, over 30 years ago now, it was to give me information that my now ex husband was having an affair with my best friend. I didn't really want to hear that information, but it was correct. Wayne Dyer says the inner voice begs us to be big... for me it was a compelling message to speak during a time when I was afraid to speak at all... to open up a conversation on betrayal that ultimately ended my marriage. The voice that begged me to stop being small and take a stand. Even when I confronted the both of them, they told me nothing was going on, and that I was ruining the friendship with my accusations.

Then a day later my best friend tried to kill herself. It was her way out of the affair that had become too much to deal with. Luckily she called for help at the last moment, why she chose to call me to save her, is still beyond me. Perhaps it was because I chose to act on the intuitive lead that she felt she could reach out. Perhaps if I hadn't spoken up, her attempt would have been permanent... who knows. Once she was in the hospital a priest was called and she confessed to him about the affair and so all of the details finally came to light, and my marriage, and friendship was over.

I have read that our unconscious mind picks up small details and stores the information that is later transmitted to our conscious mind as intuitive feelings or messages, ones that our conscious mind didn't warn us about at the time, perhaps it was too painful to deal with or we had our minds on other things at that time, or perhaps our belief systems may have gotten in the road and blocked the information.

Sometimes your inner voice will warn you about people as well as substances, and will give you information that you need to heed... but the good old conscious mind - or other people can steer you away from that vital information that is coming through. Listen closely.

First day of the rugby season

"People don't realize that I played rugby myself. It is a very rough game, almost as rough as politics." - Nelson Mandela from the movie Invictus

Is there anything better than first day of the rugby season sitting on the sidelines, eating a freshly bar-b-qued sausage sandwich? Port Macquarie Rugby Club members had a great feeling of camaraderie today, and it was fun just sitting and listening to the happy voices all around me. As I sat sniffing the bar-bie in action, I watched the first grade side at Port run together from their warm up to the field that they were about to play on, I could tell just by the way they ran together how in tune the team was... well I thought so anyway, and I know nothing about Rugby, but the final score proved my intuition correct... poetry in motion... 25-3 good work...

OK... five seconds before I took this picture, imagine a football going thru these poles... darn missed the pic again.

A reason, a season, a lifetime...

Do you believe that people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime?
Is there some reason for meeting? Or is it all just random?

Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or
a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you
will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON . . . It is
usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have
come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you
with guidance and support, to aid you physically,
emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a
godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason
you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realise is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you
sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount
of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the
person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said
that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Imagine you are at an ocean of abundance

Mathew 6... The power that created us has put everything here for us and it is up to us to deserve and accept. Louise Hay

Imagine a seat at the side of an ocean. Imagine that this ocean, is bringing to you every form of abundance you want... an abundance of love, and abundance of health, an abundance of joy, an abundance of wealth, an abundance of _____.... I'm sure you can fill in the blank.

Imagine that a message in a bottle is moving towards you on a wave, and as you watch the bottle comes closer and closer... you stand up from your seat, you walk down to the edge of the water, and the bottle washes up at your feet.

You pick up the bottle and pull out the cork. The message inside is addressed to you, and the message says...

Home is like a delicious piece of pie...

One's home is like a delicious piece of pie you order in a restaurant on a country road one cozy evening - the best piece of pie you have ever eaten in your life - and can never find again. After you leave home, you may find yourself feeling homesick, even if you have a new home that has nicer wallpaper and a more efficient dishwasher than the home in which you grew up. Lemony Snicket

Oh Lemony Snicket how right you are... but speaking about pie... have you ever had a piece of pie from an old fashioned diner in the USA? I did once, my Uncle took me to this gorgeous old world diner, in Puget Sound. They even had coconut cream pie. I had heard coconut cream pie talked about on a certain US tv show, when I was growing up. So when I came face to pie with one, I knew it was going to be my choice of the day. That diner had so many pies under so many glass domes, and I just wanted to have a bit of each.

I am sure that there is a time space warp that opens up, you go through and you end up in that diner. I think it's a little slice of heaven that you get a glimpse of... Then later on that day my Uncle and I went and had oysters taken fresh out of the water and then threw the shells back in once we'd eaten them. Oh yummy... makes me want to go back, I wonder if that diner is still there...

Give a hoot...

"The man who doesn't relax and hoot a few hoots voluntarily, now and then, is in great danger of hooting hoots and standing on his head for the edification of the pathologist and trained nurse, a little later on." Elbert Hubbard

So if you haven't hooted lately, start today... give a hoot and keep sane.
Yell hoot to anyone who'll give a hoot.

i hate frangipani stickers

Have you heard about the i hate frangipani stickers movement? I had a giggle when I saw this on a car in the tyre yard at Port Stephens recently. I have since found out there is now a movement that wants people to join... so if you're against frangipani stickers on cars go google it - so far there are 3,620 pages on google today for people who are against them. Who'd have thought the little frangipani could stir up so much emotion.

Well there you go.

Give someone a heart today...

Here's a little idea to let someone know that you are thinking of them. Get out some old material, even an old dress that you no longer use, cut out a heart shape and pop it into an envelope and send it to someone with your love.

The Frangipani Easter Egg

Easter says you can put truth in a grave, but it won't stay there. Clarence W. Hall

Continuing with my Easter Egg theme for the weekend... here's a frangipani from our friends R & S's garden.

Had such a delightfully arty day today. We went on an art gallerying date. Val Allen has a fabulous exhibit at The Regional Gallery at The Glasshouse in Port along with the photography exhibit of Port from the Panthers Camera Club... as well as... The 2008 Jacaranda drawing prize.

Then we toddled off to Sea Acres which has some of Val Allen, Sue Bell, Jackie Deane and Di Greenwood's work on display... all of the art is very inspiring, my favourite was a quite wonderful seagull, but it had already been sold.

Julia Cameron in The Artist's Way suggests that if you are an aspiring artist to go on an artist date once a week. Try it and see if you are inspired to create more art.
